Because it takes me forever to get things into my blog...last last weekend was spent in Monterey.

We left after work on Friday to try to beat the traffic, driving out on 17 and 1 in the evening is so nice

The next day, we woke up and drove the 40 minutes down to Big Sur to visit Nepenthe's and eat lunch. It was cloudy so the view wasn't great, but it's all part of the experience anyway

This was when I left to visit the bathroom...No words can describe this...

Had some drinks. Ate some sammiches. Life was good

After lunch we drove back toward Carmel Valley for some wine tasting. I don't have pictures of where we went but we visited Chock Rock who was a newcomer to the tasting room scene, Bookenogen (I probably spelled that wrong), and Carmel Valley Winery

Before we got to the vino, we took a "walk" in Julia Pfeifer Big Sur State Park

After gasping my way up the mountain, we saw a waterfall and lots of children

Then we hoofed it back down and back up again the mountain to see the view of the valley

Then we headed back into Monterey after getting our wine on and ate at the Monterey Brewing Company near the aquarium. Pretty good beer selection but most of the stuff we wanted was out so that was sad. Our plans were to shower and then go out to the classy establishments that we visited the last time we were in Monterey, but ended up passing out until the next morning. 

It was still a great way to spend a summer weekend!
